Enzymatic Drink
EUBOLITE is a fermented and filtered
liquid which contains metabolites
produced by Lactobacillus is
isolated from food sources. Another
similar product, LacTonic, is a
fermented but unfiltered liquid
blended with white grape juice. Both
products are pasteurized and they
contain no alcohol. They have a mild
yeasty and sour taste. EUBOLITE and
LacTonic are highly recommended for
improving Gastrointestinal Tract (GIT)
health.
Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB),
especially Lactobacillus, as a
probiotic, is known to produce a
wide variety of antibacterial
metabolites such as organic acids
(lactic acids, acetic acids and
propionic acids), bacteriocins and
antibiotic-like substances. This
bacterial antagonism has been
recognized for over a century.
Metabolites of Lactobacillus are
known to reduce a number of harmful
bacteria such as Enterobacteriaceae
and Escherichia coli in the GIT.
Lactobacillus produces short chain
fatty acids and promotes an acidic
environment in the GIT. It also
produces bacteriocins which are
inhibitory compounds to pathogens
and competes with other pathogens
for specific nutrients. This
explains how probiotics act to
improve the balance of our
intestinal microflora.
In recent years, this phenomenon has
received special scientific
recognition as natural preservatives
in the food and beverages
industries.
LAB are classified as "food grade"
and are Generally Recognized As Safe
(GRAS).
